Zenfone 2 Available for order in Superbuy.my from RM599

The long waited Asus Zenfone 2 is officially launched in Malaysia on 9th May 2015 with a price tag from as low as RM599. 

The Asus Zenfone 2 comes with 4 different variantions for Malaysia market, the ZE551ML with 2 specs built, then follow by the mid-range model ZE550ML and lastly the most affordable model ZE500CL. 

The top range ZE551ML came with 2 different spec built in performance wise, a higher specs and a lower spec variant. The major difference are the higher spec ZE551ML is powered by the Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz with 4GB RAM while the lower spec version is powered by a slower Intel Atom Z3560 quad-core Processor clocked at 1.8GHz and it also built with a smaller memory of just 2GB RAM. The rest of the specs for both variant shares the same hardware by having a 5.5" Full HD Display, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front facing camera, 3000mAh capacity battery, and dual SIM slot with LTE support. The top range ZE551ML also came with a choice of internal storage for 32GB or 64GB and all the model support expandable storage with a MicroSD card that support up to a maximum of 64GB.

The midrange Zenfone 2 ZE550ML was powered with the same Intel Atom Z3560 quad-core 1.8GHz processor found in the lower spec ZE551ML and also having the same 2GB RAM. Being the mid-ranger, other specs sees some downgrade from the top model ZE551ML as well, such as the display has been lowered to a 5.5" HD display unit instead of Full HD and the internal storage has also been reduced to 16GB but it is still expandable with MicroSD card up to 64GB. Other specs remain the same with the ZE551ML.

The most affordable Zenfone 2 ZE500CL is built with a pocket friendly size of 5" HD Display and the specs appeared to be somewhat close to the Zenfone 5 released about 1 year ago. The processing unit will be carried by a 1.6GHz Multicore Intel Atom Z2560 processor, which was the exact processing unit that powering the Zenfone 5, it also came with a same combination of 8MP rear camera and 2MP front facing camera, memory wise it was handled by a 2GB RAM and a smaller 8GB internal storage which is also expandable with MicroSD card up to 64GB. Due to the smaller body of the phone, the battery capacity has been reduced to a 2500mAh unit which shouldn't bring much effect to its battery life due to the downsized display. Unlike the other Zenfone 2 variant, the ZE500CL is not LTE-enabled.

Another Hardware Upgrade for Asus Zenfone 4, 5, 6 without increment of price

Recently, Asus Malaysia has been really hardworking in upgrading the hardware of Zenfone for several times which has been mentioned in our previous post, now they are giving more hardware upgrade which might be caused by the pressure from both Xiaomi and Huawei for keeping great phone at a low price tag.

The Zenfone 4 had an upgrade of internal storage from 4GB to 8GB before and now the further upgrade boost the 1170mAh battery to a bigger capacity up to 1600mAh which should help to extend longer usage per charge.

The Zenfone 5 that previously came with upgraded RAM from 1GB to 2GB also had a further upgrade of internal storage from 8GB to 16GB which is huge enough for some to use without the need of memory expansion with a memory card. This obviously made the Zenfone 5 become much more competitive to Huawei Honor 3C and Xiaomi Redmi series Smartphones.

But unfortunately, the absence of Zenfone 6 is still present. However there is also a slight upgrade of internal storage from 8GB to 16GB given to the Zenfone 6 as well and this could also be a sign from Asus that the Zenfone 6 is reaching Malaysia market soon.

Despite of having all these upgrades made for Asus Zenfone, the good guy Asus Malaysia did not increase the price instead they lowered the price for the existing models which makes the Zenfone became much more affordable and value for your hard earned cash.

Asus Zenfone 5 Stock Arrival with Surprise of 2GB RAM

The long waited Asus Zenfone series has built up massive angry customers who wait for their phone more than 2 months, the Zenfone 4 gets to be the 1st model that fulfilled customer's order, now the Zenfone 5 takes its turn to be the second model to fulfill pending orders with a surprise upgrade to 2GB RAM!

Since the 1st announcement of Zenfone 5, there is several changes has been made till date including the available date and the downgrade of its processor from Intel z2580 2Ghz Processor to Intel z2560 1.6Ghz Processor which disappoints most customers and make them holding back their order and requested for a refund. You may also find out previous post of Asus Zenfone here
